5 Nights/ 6 Days Cycling Tour


Price: $3,450 per person based on double occupancy ($800 supplement for single room occupancy)

Tuscany offers an ideal scenario for cycling enthusiasts of all levels, from amateur cyclists to anyone just wishing to pedal calmly while enjoying the beauty of the region. Tuscany is mostly a hilly territory. For cycling fans, this means challenging yourself on the same hills and slopes many cycling legends trained, including Bartali, Cipollini and Bettini. Tuscany, is in fact, a land of cyclists and wherever you choose to ride, you're likely to cross paths with other two-wheel aficionados. 

The agriturismo where you will stay was originally a summer residence of the Diocese of Arezzo in IV Century B.C. with the adjoining Pieve Farm and village dating back to the 17th Century. Here you will be able to experience the best of "Vita Toscana" which includes fresh organic food from the local farms, excellent wine and the tranquility of the hillside. The Agriturismo sits on 700 hectares of farmland used for organic farming and has 37 rooms and 9 apartments.

Day 1



Arrival in Pieve a Salti with own transportation, check-in to your rooms, presentation of the tour with the guides and bike fitting. 

Dinner at farmhouse

Day 2


Ride: 59 miles

Elevation gain: 4,400 ft

Terrain: Rolling hills


Early breakfast to be ready to leave at 8:30 am. This is the longest ride of the tour that will go through the scenic towns of Rapolano Terme, Buonconvento and numerous small little town in the rolling hills of Tuscany. We will be back at the agriturismo for lunch and the afternoon is free for you to explore the area or simply relax at the pool.

Dinner at the agriturismo.

Day 3



Ride: 49 miles

Elevation gain: 4,600 ft

Terrain: rolling hills


This ride will go through the Val d'Orcia which will lead us to Pienza the famous "city of the Popes". We are in the heart of the UNESCO Val D'Orcia park. On the way back to the agriturismo we will go through charming little towns: Petroio famous for its terracotta and Castelmuzio. We are in the middle of the olive oil country. The hills are covered by secular olive trees with views that look right out of a painting. We will also stop for a nice espresso in the Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore for a nice break.

We will arrive at the agriturismo for lunch and in the afternoon we will have the opportunity to visit a local cheese factory.

Dinner will be at the Agriturismo.

Day 4



Ride: 48 miles

Elevation gain: 5,620 ft

Terrain: Rolling hills


This is a challenging ride that will really let you experience the famous Tuscan uphills. We will ride through the Val d'Orcia vineyards and we will see the beautiful Abazia di Castelnuovo dell'Abete. We will be back at the agriturismo for lunch. In the afternoon we will tour a winery in Montalcino where they produce the well known Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino. We will be able to learn more about the history of this noble wine and how it is produced.

Dinner will be at the Agriturismo.

Day 5


Ride: 62 miles

Elevation gain: 5,760 ft

Terrain: Rolling hills

This ride will take us to Siena using some of the white roads used for the famous vintage road bike "L'Eroica". Riding a bike on the very well kept Tuscan white road is a must when riding in Tuscany. Once in Siena, we will have the opportuinity to get a coffee in Piazza del Campo, Siena's main square where they have Palio di Siena horse race is hosted twice a year. On the way back to Pieve a Salti, we will ride through the Crete Senesi with its lunar landscape. 

Dinner will be at the agriturismo.
